But the march of algorithm-based decision making and artificial intelligence tools isn’t slowing.
In 2019 Estonia set about designing a “robot judge” to adjudicate disputes less than €7000 to focus the justice system on major cases. Similar claims of Chinese “Internet Courts” functioning in three cities since 2017 with robot judges need more independent verification.
